Class Descriptions

Contemporary Ballet

This class will work on weight transitions, alignment, musicality, and quality of movement. Barre work will set dancers to feel centered and ready to connect larger movements with efficiency and grace. An intermediate/advanced ballet class for students with a considerable amount of experience in ballet technique.

Afro-Modern

Afro-Modern dance is a fusion style that combines elements of African dance traditions with modern dance techniques. Rooted in African diasporic movement, it integrates rhythms, storytelling, and spiritual elements from African cultures with the expressiveness, floor work, and structured forms of modern dance. This style emphasizes grounded movement, fluidity, and isolations, often exploring themes related to identity, history, and resilience within Black communities.

Jazz Funk

This combination-based class focuses on a blend of jazz and hip hop. Dancers are training their movement quality while improving their performance and projection. Everyone is welcome to participate!

Modern Dance

Martha Graham technique explores principles of contraction, release, spiral, and shift of weight. The classes will begin on the floor with a series of exercises developing into standing sequences and culminating with dynamic movement phrases. We will build strength and flexibility over the course.
